Why a Cloud Strategy?
A Cloud Strategy is a documented plan that describes how an organisation deploys cloud technology to achieve its goals. It's not about technology for technology's sake, but about how cloud contributes to the organisation's agility, security, cost control and capacity for innovation.
A good Cloud Strategy answers four questions: where are we now, where do we want to go, how do we get there, and how do we measure whether we're on track. The result is a clear picture of the target landscape (which platforms, which architecture principles, which migration routes) and a roadmap that is achievable within the realities of budget, capacity and risk tolerance.

We analyse the existing IT landscape, the organisational context and previous cloud initiatives, and determine together with IT, business and finance which goals the strategy needs to support, such as cost reduction, scalability, security and AI readiness.

We already have a vision for cloud. Does a Cloud Strategy still make sense?
Yes. A vision provides direction, but a strategy makes that direction executable. We regularly see organisations with a clear cloud vision that struggle to translate it into concrete choices about platforms, migration routes and governance. A strategy project builds on what's already there and fills the gaps, without reinventing the wheel.
How does a Cloud Strategy relate to an AI Strategy?
The two are directly connected. Cloud is the prerequisite for AI: without a solid, well-configured cloud environment, you can't deploy AI applications securely and at scale. We build AI readiness into the Cloud Strategy as standard. If you want to go further with an explicit AI Strategy, we're happy to offer that as a separate project.
Does the Cloud Strategy also deliver a business case?
We produce a cost calculation that gives insight into the expected investment and the financial impact of the chosen migration routes. This isn't a detailed TCO analysis (Total Cost of Ownership) down to the euro, but a well-substantiated estimate that's sufficient for internal decision-making and prioritisation. We can deliver a more detailed business case as an add-on if the organisation requests it.
