Challenge
In recent years, PLUS has taken on a major digital transformation. One of the foundations of its digital strategy was getting more out of cloud-native technology. PLUS wanted to integrate the public cloud thoroughly yet pragmatically into the complex landscape of the food retail value chain.
From strategy to two landing zones
In the discovery phase, Digital Survival Company worked with PLUS in a series of workshops. This resulted in a multi-cloud strategy, a clear cloud roadmap based on the 6R model and a financial business case. Using the cloud foundation framework, a deliberate choice was made, based on the functional requirements, to host one part of the landscape in Azure and another in AWS.
This resulted in two landing zones. The workloads were then migrated in batches using a proven infrastructure-as-code approach. After the migrations, Digital Survival Company took over 24/7 management of all workloads in Azure and AWS. The rest of the cloud transformation is planned for the coming periods.
